Pinnacle Award

Operational Performance Medals

Three levels in bronze (Pledge to Excellence), silver (Superior Contribution), and gold (Pinnacle Award). Seven arching crescent shapes symbolize the departments that make up the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. The crescents move and work in conjunction with one another representing the teamwork and energy required during times of crisis. The shape alludes to a hurricane, representing the response to Hurricane Katrina and the creation of ASPR in its wake. At the center is our nations shield, denoting the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response mission to build federal emergency operational capabilities. The two color, counterchanged ribbons emphasize the dual mission of preparedness & response.
